Our bromeliads come direct from Guatemala. We usually have a nice selection of colors and varieties. Special ordering for color or type is available, however there may be a wait of several weeks or so.

Bromeliads are very hardy and easy to maintain. They require filtered (not direct) sunlight. Water the soil once a week and mist the flower often. Do not add water to the center cup. This last advice goes against most of the directions you will see for bromeliads. While water in the center is a normal and natural thing in their native habitat, it will quickly rot the center of the plant in a home environment.

Many people believe the colored, center leaves are the flower, actually the true flowers will appear within the brightly colored leaves.

We dress our plants in wicker baskets and add Spanish moss to cover the soil. We also have several decorative containers, at an additional charge, to choose from. They may be seen by scrolling to the bottom of this page.

This is a wonderful variety. The central flower bract almost appears as feathers arising from the main plant. The blossoms will appear along the edges of the red feathery spikes.

This lush lemony yellow one has several little side shoots starting. This is how the plant reproduces. Eventually the main stem will die back, as the side shoots (or pups as we call them) gain in size.

This jewel is our smaller size. They come dressed in a terra cotta pot with Spanish moss covering the soil. This particular variety will stay shorter making it nice for a centerpiece or as an accent to an ocassional table.
